Materials

  • ½ cup shea butter
  • ½ cup unrefined virgin coconut oil
  • ¼ cup cocoa butter
  • 15 drops clove essential oil
  • 10 drops sweet orange essential oil

Instructions

  • In a double boiler over medium heat, add the shea butter, coconut oil and cocoa butter. Heat until all has liquified, stirring occasionally.
  • Turn off the heat, then stir in the essential oils.
  • Immediately place the mixture into the fridge to set and harden, at least one hour.
  • Once the mixture has set, remove it from the fridge and then whip using a stand mixer, hand mixer or immersion blender, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Use the body butter right away or keep it stored in a closed container in a cool place, away from direct sunlight, for up to six months.

Notes

If you are in a rush, you can pop the liquified ingredients into the freezer instead of the refrigerator if needed.
