Cooling Time: 1 hour hr
Total Time: 1 hour hr 20 minutes mins
Yield: 8 ounces
Cost: $10
- ½ cup shea butter
- ½ cup unrefined virgin coconut oil
- ¼ cup cocoa butter
- 15 drops clove essential oil
- 10 drops sweet orange essential oil
In a double boiler over medium heat, add the shea butter, coconut oil and cocoa butter. Heat until all has liquified, stirring occasionally.
Turn off the heat, then stir in the essential oils.
Immediately place the mixture into the fridge to set and harden, at least one hour.
Once the mixture has set, remove it from the fridge and then whip using a stand mixer, hand mixer or immersion blender, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Use the body butter right away or keep it stored in a closed container in a cool place, away from direct sunlight, for up to six months.
If you are in a rush, you can pop the liquified ingredients into the freezer instead of the refrigerator if needed.
