Calendula Lip Balm

Making your own calendula lip balm is a great way to ensure your lips stay soft and moist during the extremes of temperature in different seasons. This recipe is easy to make with natural ingredients and you can even swap the essential oil in it for your favorite scent!

Materials

  • ¼ cup calendula infused oil
  • 2 tablespoons beeswax yellow or white, pellets or cut off the block
  • 1 tablespoon shea butter
  • 8 drops clove essential oil or a favorite essential oil of your own, optional

Instructions

  • In a double boiler over low heat, add the calendula oil, beeswax and shea butter.
  • Stir until melted, about 3 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and gently stir in the essential oil (if using).
  • Pour the mixture into lip balm tins or tubes and allow to cool and set completely before placing the lids on.
  • Store in a cool, dry place for up to one year.
  • Enjoy!
