DIY Melt and Pour Grapefruit Dish Soap Recipe

This simple yet effective dish soap recipe utilizes real grapefruit zest for its invigorating scent and its natural solvent, odor-neutralizing, and antibacterial properties, making it a great addition to any dishwashing routine.

Materials

  • 4 ounces shea butter melt and pour soap base
  • Zest of one whole grapefruit
  • Optional - grapefruit essential oil if you want a stronger scent

Instructions

  • In a double boiler over medium heat, add the soap base.
  • Stir until fully melted, about five minutes.
  • Turn off the heat, then stir in grapefruit zest.
  • Pour the soap into soap molds of choice.
  • All the soap to cool and set at least a few hours before removing from the molds.
  • To use, wet the soap and run a dish brush over the bar before scrubbing dishes.
  • Keep unused bars stored in a cool, dry place for up to one year
