DIY Chamomile and Hibiscus Tinted Lip Balm Recipe

This tinted lip balm is made with almond oil, chamomile flowers, cocoa butter, beeswax, and hibiscus powder. It’s a perfectly easy DIY project that moisturizes your lips with a sheer flush of color!

Materials

  • ¼ cup sweet almond oil
  • 2 tablespoons dried chamomile flowers German chamomile
  • 2 tablespoons raw cocoa butter
  • 2 tablespoons beeswax grated or pellets (yellow or white)
  • 2 teaspoons hibiscus powder

Instructions

  • Start by infusing the sweet almond oil with the dried chamomile. You can infuse the oil using a quick method, placing the oil and flowers in a double boiler over low heat for 1-6 hours. Alternatively, you can steep the chamomile in the oil in a jar for at least 3 weeks.
  • Once the oil is infused, strain the flowers and reserve the oil.
  • Add the infused oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, and hibiscus powder in a double boiler over medium heat.
  • Stir constantly while all melts and blends together completely, only about 2 minutes.
  • Once the ingredients are smooth and an even color, pour the lip balm mixture into the containers or tubes of your choosing.
  • Allow the lip balm to cool until completely set, usually at least 1 hour.
  • Use and enjoy!
