Whether you have a backyard, patio, or windowsill, these 12 low-maintenance herbs are perfect for sunny spaces and gardeners of all levels.

Basil loves sunshine and warmth. It grows quickly, especially in pots or garden beds with good drainage. Snip leaves often to keep it bushy—and enjoy it fresh in salads, pastas, or pesto.

Oregano is tough, sun-loving, and low-maintenance. It spreads easily in the garden or container and comes back year after year. Use it fresh or dried to season pizzas, sauces, and grilled dishes.
