Ingredient Notes
Castile Soap: This soap is made of plant oils. It acts as a mild cleanser that’s great for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It also makes bubbles or suds in the bath.
Carrier Oil of Choice: This dilutes the essential oils so they won’t irritate your skin.
- I like using Jojoba oil, but you can use coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, or whatever you prefer.
Grapefruit Juice: Grapefruit juice has cleansing properties that help exfoliate your skin.
- For best results, use freshly squeezed juice.
Vegetarian Glycerin: This helps lock in moisture and adds other skin-soothing properties to this homemade bubble bath recipe. It also helps create more bubbles.
Lavender Essential Oil and Grapefruit Essential Oils: These oils provide a calming, soothing scent to the natural bubble bath recipe.
- For those with allergies to lavender EO, you can try chamomile or rose instead.
- If you're allergic to grapefruit EO, try using lemon, bergamot, or peppermint oils.

Top Tips
- Including fresh fruit in the ingredients list reduces the shelf life of this bubble bath recipe. If you want a version with a longer shelf life, omit the grapefruit juice and use an additional 10 drops of grapefruit essential oil. This one should store well for at least 6 months.
- Always use high-quality ingredients, particularly essential oils, to give your bubble bath a lovely, lasting fragrance.
- You can adjust the amount of essential oils you put in, depending on how fragrant you want your bubble bath to be.
- Keeping this bubble bath recipe in a sealed container in a cool, dark place is important, so it will always be at its best when you use it.
- I suggest putting them in pump bottles so they're easier to use. Use a funnel to pour them with ease.
