This green tea sugar scrub is the perfect DIY for anyone who wants to refresh their skin without using harsh chemicals. It’s a mixture of natural ingredients that will leave your skin soft and glowing without any irritation. Not only is this sugar scrub easy to make and budget-friendly, but it’s also cruelty-free!

I always suggest adding green tea body scrubs to people’s self-care routines because of how amazing your skin will feel after using them. This gentle exfoliator is highly effective in removing dry spots and impurities while also calming the skin. It’s ideal for anyone who wants cleaner, smoother skin without spending a fortune.

    Materials Needed

Granulated Sugar: Acts as a natural exfoliant that gently sloughs off dead skin cells. You can use raw or white sugar to make homemade scrubs.

Green Tea: Have antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that can support overall skin health. You can also use loose green tea leaves if desired.

Melted Coconut Oil: Binds the ingredients together while also providing moisture to the skin, keeping it from becoming too dry after exfoliation.

Vitamin E Oil: Optional; it helps nourish and repair the skin as well as naturally prolong the green tea sugar scrub’s shelf life.

Essential Oil: Optional; it adds a lovely fragrance that can improve or boost your mood. You can use oils like lavender, lemon, or peppermint oil for this body scrub.

How to Use Homemade Body Scrubs

Gently massage onto damp skin in circular motions, then rinse off with warm water. Great to use on your hands, body, and feet!

    Top Tips

    • Avoid using flavored or scented green tea when making sugar scrub recipes. They may contain oils or additives that can irritate the skin. Opt to use organic green tea instead to reduce the risk of skin reactions.
    • For gentler exfoliation, consider using fine-grained or brown sugar instead, as they are slightly less abrasive.
    • You can also add raw honey to give your body scrub an extra boost of hydration and healing properties.

    Storage

Store the green tea body scrub in an airtight container and keep it in a cool, dry place. Always use clean and dry hands or a spoon when scooping the scrub to prevent introducing moisture, which can lead to bacterial growth.

Use sugar scrubs within 2–3 weeks for the best results.
