    Ingredient Notes

Shea butter melt and pour soap base: A fantastic soap base as it leaves the skin soft and moisturized.

Calendula (dried): Apart from its bright, cheery color, it's very soothing on the skin.

Rose (dried): Gives a lovely floral scent to the soap and has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.

Lavender (dried): It can calm skin irritation, reduce redness, and has anti-bacterial properties.

Violet (dried): Hydrates and nourishes the skin; eases inflammation.

Floral essential oil (optional): Gives the soap natural fragrances, making it aromatic.

    Top Tips

    • Stir gently with a spatula to minimize bubbles, and spray the surface with isopropyl alcohol to pop any that form.
    • Add natural ingredients like goat’s milk honey, oatmeal, or aloe vera, which are also soothing and hydrating to the skin.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I melt soap bases in the microwave?

Yes, you can. Put the soap base in a glass bowl. Pop it in the microwave on medium heat for 30-second intervals, stirring in between for a smooth consistency and even melting.

Should I add soap dye and soap colorants to my soap?

While these ingredients can make soap more colorful, I usually don't use them because they can irritate the skin. Nonetheless, if you want to add more color to your soap, I suggest using natural mica powder.

What's the difference between shea butter and natural glycerin soap base?

If you want extra moisturizing soap with a creamy lather, go for shea butter. But if you're making transparent soap that's hydrating, go for glycerin.

Will alcohol affect the soap ingredients if I use it to pop bubbles?

Spraying alcohol is a common practice to eliminate bubbles formed when the melted soap base is poured into the molds. Don't worry, alcohol evaporates quickly and doesn't leave any residue. It won’t interfere with the properties or effectiveness of the soap.

    Storing Melt and Pour Soaps

To maintain their vibrant colors and delightful fragrances, keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Wrapping each bar in plastic wrap or a cute little bag will also keep them fresh and dust-free. You can store them for up to 18 months.
